Summer is gorgeous is northern Minnesota woods and on the lake, but we love the entire year up here. So do our girls! Normally big city kids, they adore coming up here with their friends to ski (water and cross country), to learn to fix dinner for the family, sleep late, get in miles before cross-country starts, chop down the Christmas tree and decorate it with popcorn strands and construction paper chains, put together jigsaw puzzles and play killer Parcheezi with cocoa in front of the fire.
We invite you to experience the beauty of the North Woods land in the comfort and beauty of the Burrows Cabin. Let your children learn the woods’ and lake’s secrets. They will discover self reliance and the joys of family in a time away from schools’ and cities’ pressures. One teenager left us a big construction paper note, with colors and sparkles last summer. It read, “Thanks!!! This place ROCKS!”
We do not recommend the cabin for families with very young children, particularly toddlers, or small children who are not very good swimmers. The cabin is built very close to the lake (only 25′ at the closest point) and it would be hard to supervise young active children. Please remember us when your children are older (or on the swim team!)
